Creole Bell

Creole Bell
One of my favorite authors – James Lee Burke, a Cajun out of new Iberia, Louisana – does a masterful writing job in another case by Deputy Sheriff Dave Robicheaux and his best buddy, alcoholic but still lethal Clete Purcel. This is one of 20-odd books written by Burke with the same characters, generally set in the swamps of Louisiana and the languid, sinful streets of “New Awlens”. Burke’s writing seduces you into his imagination by his masterful descriptions and his uncanny knowledge of the human experience.

You’ll love his characters and you won’t find a better book for a lazy afternoon.
